Wigan Borough Specialist Services

Healthcare that puts people first

Making access to healthcare simpler

Everyone deserves access to quality healthcare. But for some people, accessing primary care
is not always straightforward.

Specialist Services provides a local route into primary healthcare for people who may face barriers to accessing mainstream services. We are here to make that journey simpler, more accessible
and more supportive.

Care that understands your circumstances

We provide primary care for a range of people and communities, including travellers and transient communities, people experiencing homelessness, asylum seekers, vulnerable people, special allocation patients and people who are unregistered or de-registered with a GP.

We understand that circumstances can change and that previous experiences can sometimes make accessing healthcare difficult. Our approach is simple: listen, understand your needs and help you access appropriate care.

Local healthcare, personal support.

Our team delivers professional primary care through our Medical Hubs and wider services across Wigan and the surrounding area.

Whether you need to arrange an appointment, speak to someone about your options or find support to manage your health, we aim to provide a clear and welcoming route for your healthcare.

Everyone deserves access to quality healthcare.

Our purpose is to help remove barriers and make it easier for people to access the care they need, when they need it.
